10 Mar 2006 - Max Grip Gloves

I'm an army helicopter pilot, currently serving in Iraq with many other pilots who admire my Max Grip NT gloves. Our regular issue flight gloves fall apart after a month of hard wear. The pair of black NT's that I got from a supply purchase while in Korea are still serving me excellently. I would say that I give your product a lot of good word-of-mouth advertising, but I don't even need to. Whenever I fly with another aviator who's fingers are poking out of the separated seams of their army-issue gloves, they immediately ask where I got mine.

16 Apr 2006 - Combat Gloves

The Short Style Green Combat Gloves are perfect for this environment; easy to put on and take off, does not interfere with other equipment, while at the same time providing the protection warranted for this type of rugged environment. The Kevlar protection has proved invaluable due to this rough and rugged environment. During route clearance operations against Improvised Explosive Devices requiring the team to displace rocks and other debris, the rugged gloves hold up to the desert environment with ease.

25 Apr 2006 - Various gloves

We have been using SouthWest MotorSports Gloves for about 10 years now. Just like someone else wrote that the normal issue flight gloves fall apart after a month and sometimes one use. We would issue 6-7 pairs per year. With SouthWest Gloves they last up to 18 months of heavy use. You are getting what you pay for and saving money at the same time for you unit.

07 May 2006 - various gloves

I have been using various styles of these gloves for 5 years. Southwest Motorsports simply makes the best gloves, with the best customer care, on the market...not just for pilots, but every environment, from infantry operations, to working in your yard to keeping your hands warm.

21 Dec 2006 - Max Grip Gloves

I am writing to tell you about my Max Grip Gloves. I was recently given a pair for field testing. I am currently a Staff Sergeant in the Marines, and am in Iraq.

Our daily activities consist of foot patrols during daylight hours, and we typically do three to five nighttime mechanized raids during the week. We do everything to getting in and out of vehicles, kicking in doors, breaking glass windows, and jumping walls and fences to moving wire, firing ranges, and most importantly trying to keep warm. It is pretty cold right now, and heaters are hard to come by.
I would like to tell you that I am very satisfied with my gloves, and if I had bought them myself, I would not regret spending the money. They are very comfortable, flexible, and the nomex material is probably the best thing about them.

The Max Grip Gloves are are an awesome product, and I thank you for the opportunity to be one of the first to field test them. I get all kinds of questions from Marines asking me where I got them, and how much they cost. I think they might be a little jealous.

02 Jan 2007 - Max Grip gloves

To answer you question, I have the Max Grip NT gloves. They are one of the best pieces of gear that I have, and I never leave the wire without them. I even wear them when I'm not out, just to keep warm. And I still get a lot of "gear envy" from other Marines. You see, once a Marine sees another Marine with a piece of gear that no one else has, he just has to get it. Mostly just so he can look cool, in that off chance that he finds himself on FOX News.

The gloves work great. I have worn them everyday for about six weeks, and they are still like new. Usually, the government issued nomex flight gloves get their first hole after about two or three weeks. But these have been great. As for the watch issue, it isn't a huge deal, and definitely something that can be overcome. All I do is push the sleeve up a little, and it's no problem.

Again, my sincerest gratitude for the gloves. A great piece of gear, and I am thankful to have them.

03 Jan 2007 - Combat Gloves

Greetings from Baghdad!
A Navy Officer assigned here has a pair of your "Combat Gloves, Short, CG-KP-06-09 Size: Medium, Color: Green." How do I get a pair of these GREAT gloves?!?

In all of my time in the Army I have never seen a better pair of combat gloves!!!!

22 Jan 2007 - Combat gloves

Thanks so much for your speedy response. I served with the MA Army National Guard as a helicopter crew chief in Iraq from November 2005 until November 2006. When mobilizing, I received a pair of combat gloves manufactured by your company.
The label reads: Combat Gloves, Short. CG-KP-06-10.
I was very impressed with the gloves and use them frequently in my civilian life shoeing horses.  I do need either Nomex or Kevlar for working in the forge. These gloves have been wonderful for that purpose. Even after 12 months in the desert and a month of being in and out of a 1000 degree forge, they are still holding up and are just now beginning to show some wear. I ordered a pair of the gloves today.

29 Jan 2007 - Hi-Tech Impact II CT gloves

Dear Southwest Motorsports,
I was first issued a pair of your High-Tech Impact II CT gloves (NSN 8415-MP2-CT05-12) in late 2002 as my Air Force Special Operations ground combat unit was preparing for its deployment to what would become Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Your Impact II CT gloves proved invaluable in the deserts along the border of Iraq as we loaded and unloaded cargo pallets, built camp, moved heavy equipment and our combat vehicles, handled our firearms, knives, and tools, and broke camp.  I used my Impact II CT gloves throughout all stages of our deployment from the United States, employment in executing our missions in theater, and redeployment home after the major combat fighting ended in the late spring and early summer of 2003.
Less than six months later my unit deployed again.  This time we returned to the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan for my unit's third deployment to that country.  Again, I used my Impact II CT gloves throughout all phases of our deployment, execution of our combat missions to include a unique eleven-day mission with a ground special operations team on a remote airstrip in northwest Afghanistan, and redeployment home.
The Impact II CT gloves were an essential part of my equipment and gear.  I have very large hands with very long fingers.  After two deployments to IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, the seam along one of the finger tips began to loosen and the fabric began to separate.  Still your gloves are outstanding and upon my return home to my unit, I was issued a new pair of Impact II CT gloves.

One of those gloves was ruined in a mishap late last summer while working with a lawnmower engine during my off-duty time.  I had turned off the engine, and unbeknownst to me and unlike newer lawnmower engines when they are shut off, the blade was still moving moments later when I went to clear an obstruction.  The Impact II CT glove minimized the damage and prevented me from losing a significant portion of a finger on one of my hands when the lawnmower blade cut through the glove gouging my fingertip, fingernail, and breaking the first bone in my finger.  The doctors were convinced that your gloves with their strong materials and sturdy construction saved my finger and prevented me from losing one of my fingertips down to the nearest joint.  I have since made a full recovery.

Once again I am preparing for a deployment in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.  But this time I will not be issued a pair of Impact II CT gloves, as it is not a standard piece of equipment for my current unit.  Despite this fact and in knowing how effective these gloves are at handling the many unexpected tasks that one encounters in the desert, I would like to purchase some of the Impact II CT gloves and a pair of the Max Grip NT gloves, using my own personal funds.

If you will, please provide me with a price list of your gloves, particularly for the High-Tech Impact II and Max Grip NT gloves.

Even though this is not an official endorsement from the Department of Defense or the United States Air Force, I personally thank you for the superb quality of your gloves that aid and improve the hands-on conditions of so many of our fighting women and men at home and abroad in the Global War on Terrorism and Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI

30 Jan 2007 - Hi-Tech Impact II CT gloves

Good Morning, I am part of an Embedded Training Team (ETT) in Ghazni, Afghanistan.  Before coming here, my team bought each of us a pair of your M-Pact II CT gloves.  I have used them just about every day for the last 13 months and they are the best gloves I have ever owned!  We now have a group of Romanian ETT's here and their team leader saw my gloves and INSISTS I give them to him when I leave (at the end of this week). He literally harasses me every day.  Here is my dilemma... risk losing a friend by keeping the gloves or... Part with the best pair of gloves ever (that I planned on using for MC riding when I get home). Decisions, decisions!  I guess my question is, how much are a pair of these gloves and can I buy them directly through you?  I am willing to give them up for my Romanian counterpart, but I really would like to have a pair for posterity!  In the end, we may end up with some kind of "intern ational incident" if this doesn't get resolved!

Thanks for your time!!

10-Apr 2007 - Air Soft gloves

I'm looking for a kick-ass pair of gloves.  After reading the review

at Military Morons I've come to SWS (and now SWS Camelbak) to get them.

I play Airsoft.  What is "Airsoft"- Airsoft is a sport similar to

paintball where the guns we use are 1:1 scale replicas of their real-

steele counterparts, and they shoot 6mm plastic BB's instead of

paintballs.

Why would I want your amazing, bomb-proof, but not cheap gloves for

this?  Because, cheap gear breaks.  And even though our lives are not

on the line in this game, like it is with real military operators,

our gear has to stand up to being rained on, snowed on, scraped on.

We play in deserts, forrests, snow, and CQB Mout wood and concrete

jungles.  Our gear can sometimes take almost as much a thrashing as

the real military operators does, but as I said, our lives don't

depend on it, like theirs do.  That's why we buy the expensive "real-

deal" ... because it's supposed to last.

My current pair of gloves (from some 3rd party no-name "claiming" to

be tactical) fell apart in 6 months.  The seam from the pointer

knuckle to the thumb split, and the seams along most of the fingers,

have split as well.  I also didn't like the trigger contact I got, so

I cut the trigger finger off at the 1st knuckle.

I'm not sure I'm willing to cut the SWS glove (and you can suggest

wether or not to do that) but this is what I need-

A form fitting clove that will protect my hand from scrapes

(concrete), thorns, and rocks.  It has to have dexterity so I can

grab things out of my various pouches, or re- adjust buckles, etc on

my gear without taking them off.  That also have to have superior

stitching quality (especially on my trigger hand) so they don't split

at that vital area where my palm, pointer knuckle, and thumb grip my

weapon.

I do NOT need flash fire protection, I do not need impact

protection.  I LOVE the cut and design of the Max-Grip series (the

wrist adjustment velcro, AND the sleeve that can be rolled up or down

are perfect for me.)  I would be curios as to wether to go with

kevlar, or regular material.  Over time and use I don't mind if the

material pills, but I don't want it to tear or rip during it's usage

in the woods, and buildings.

17-Apr 2007 - Friction Fighter gloves

I have been using a pair of the fast rope gloves for over a year and a half now and they are incredible I have worn them every day for the last 6 months of this deployment and they barley look broke in while everyone elses gloves are torn to shreds thanks for making a great product at a good price
